Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Cat, Ocean City, Maryland by George Krause for USD 191.25 (€ 195.49). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Krause achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountainhead, Philadelphia, 1970 in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,171.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cat, Ocean City, Maryland von George Krause für USD 191,25 (€ 195,49) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Krause erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fountainhead, Philadelphia, 1970 im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.171,80).
