Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portfolio III by George Hurrell was auctioned at Bonhams in January this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,295.00 (€ 2,113.65). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Hurrell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hurrell, Portfolio I, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,538.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portfolio III von George Hurrell kam im Januar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.295,00 (€ 2.113,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von George Hurrell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hurrell, Portfolio I beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 4.700,00 (€ 5.538,53) versteigert wurde.
