Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Joan Crawford by George Hurrell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 968.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Hurrell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hurrell, Portfolio I in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,538.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Joan Crawford von George Hurrell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 968,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Hurrell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hurrell, Portfolio I im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.700,00 (€ 5.538,53).
