The work Views of the Gold Regions of Australia, 1851 (Abbey Travel 583) by George French Angas was worth GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,591.29) to a buyer in May 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Travel & Natural History at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 400.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George French Angas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eaglehawk Gully, Bendigo, 1852 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 418,200.00 (€ 350,016.74).
