Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Portraits of the Aboriginal Inhabitants; The Aboriginal Inhabitants; and The Aboriginal Inhabitants (Abbey Travel 577, nos. 20,29,49), by W. Hawkins, J.W. Giles, G.F. Angas by George French Angas was sold in the Travel & Natural History auction at Christies in London in May 2007. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 882.94) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George French Angas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eaglehawk Gully, Bendigo, 1852 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 418,200.00 (€ 350,016.74).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portraits of the Aboriginal Inhabitants; The Aboriginal Inhabitants; and The Aboriginal Inhabitants (Abbey Travel 577, nos. 20,29,49), by W. Hawkins, J.W. Giles, G.F.
