Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The New Zealanders Illustrated by George French Angas was sold in the Exploration and Travel auction at Christies in London in September 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 12,546.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George French Angas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eaglehawk Gully, Bendigo, 1852 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 418,200.00 (€ 350,016.74).
