Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four Plates, from Mountain Moods 4 by George Elbert Burr was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,024.00 (€ 894.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Elbert Burr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Desert Night, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 1,997.50 (€ 2,353.88).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.024,00 (€ 894,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
