Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bob, a black horse in a stable by George Earl was sold in the Sporting Art and Dogs auction at Christies in London in June 2004. The price achieved of GBP 956.00 (€ 1,422.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Earl achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right) in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 30,550.00 (€ 49,932.77).
