In September 2002 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Head of Gainer, a Fox Hound by George Earl. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,541.00 (€ 4,596.62), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Earl achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right) in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 30,550.00 (€ 49,932.77).

Im September 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head of Gainer, a Fox Hound von George Earl zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.541,00 (€ 4.596,62) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Earl erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.550,00 (€ 49.932,77).
