It achieved a price of USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,639.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Earl - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right), which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 30,550.00 (€ 49,932.77).
