Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A long-haired terrier in a landscape by George Earl was auctioned at Christies in London in February this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,292.00 (€ 6,036.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Earl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right) in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 30,550.00 (€ 49,932.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A long-haired terrier in a landscape von George Earl kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.292,00 (€ 6.036,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Earl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.550,00 (€ 49.932,77).
