Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Theory and Practice; and Poor by Honest Eh? by George Denholm Armour. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,519.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Denholm Armour achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lion and Lioness at Rest in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,655.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Theory and Practice; and Poor by Honest Eh? von George Denholm Armour zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.519,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Denholm Armour erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lion and Lioness at Rest im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.655,57).
