Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ninth Avenue by George Copeland Ault was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 275,000.00 (€ 249,568.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Copeland Ault - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Plough and the Moon, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 687,500.00 (€ 609,107.82).
