Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New Jersey Landscape by George Copeland Ault was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. The price achieved of USD 4,780.00 (€ 3,849.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Copeland Ault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Plough and the Moon in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 687,500.00 (€ 609,107.82).
