Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 30,550.00 (€ 32,750.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Copeland Ault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Plough and the Moon in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 687,500.00 (€ 609,107.82).

Die Arbeit Landscape with Building and Leafless Tree von George Copeland Ault wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 30.550,00 (€ 32.750,86) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Copeland Ault erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Plough and the Moon im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 687.500,00 (€ 609.107,82).
