Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A peaceful day on the river by George Cole was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,752.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 84,600.00 (€ 90,694.68).
