In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A cottage at Albury, Surrey by George Cole. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,688.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 84,600.00 (€ 90,694.68).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cottage at Albury, Surrey von George Cole zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.688,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Cole erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.600,00 (€ 90.694,68).
