Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A mid-day meal by George Cole was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,024.00 (€ 1,186.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 84,600.00 (€ 90,694.68).
