Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Cole could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale auction, the work British At Harvest changed hands for USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,641.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Cole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe, which sold at auction in May 2000 for USD 84,600.00 (€ 90,694.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Cole konnte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale wechselte die Arbeit British At Harvest für USD 31.250,00 (€ 24.641,22) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Cole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für USD 84.600,00 (€ 90.694,68) versteigert wurde.
