Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work May blossom, primulas, berries, and a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank by George Clare. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,312.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Clare - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Strawberries, apples, plums, and grapes in a wicker basket, on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,120.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit May blossom, primulas, berries, and a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank von George Clare zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.312,12) einen neuen Besitzer.
