Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale, which included the work Still Life by George Campbell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 38,535.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by George Campbell have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work Evening In Connemara was auctioned for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,167.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von George Campbell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 38.535,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von George Campbell konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2007 die Arbeit Evening In Connemara für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.167,01) versteigert.
