Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale, which included the work Exotique by George Campbell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,267.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Campbell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Evening In Connemara, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,167.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Exotique von George Campbell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.267,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George Campbell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Evening In Connemara beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.167,01) versteigert wurde.
