Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roundstone by George Campbell was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,171.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Campbell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening In Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,167.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Roundstone von George Campbell wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.171,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Campbell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening In Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.167,01).
