Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Model In A Venice Studio by Geoffrey Humphries was sold in the 20th Century British and Irish Art auction at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,316.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Humphries - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude with crimson stockings, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,212.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Model In A Venice Studio von Geoffrey Humphries wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.316,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Humphries mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude with crimson stockings beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.212,81) versteigert wurde.
