Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seated Model With Lucy And Perdie by Geoffrey Humphries was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in September 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,248.61). Other works by Geoffrey Humphries have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2008 by the work Nude with crimson stockings at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,212.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Seated Model With Lucy And Perdie von Geoffrey Humphries im September 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.248,61) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Humphries wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2008 die Arbeit Nude with crimson stockings mit GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.212,81).
