Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art, which included the work The Letter by Geoffrey Humphries. The price achieved of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,124.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Humphries - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude with crimson stockings, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,212.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Letter von Geoffrey Humphries zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.124,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Humphries mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude with crimson stockings beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.212,81) versteigert wurde.
