Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Model in the Artist's Studio by Geoffrey Humphries was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 997.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Geoffrey Humphries have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude with crimson stockings in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,212.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Model in the Artist's Studio von Geoffrey Humphries kam im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 997,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geoffrey Humphries auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude with crimson stockings im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.212,81).
