Auction result well in line with expectations
The work One & One Iii by Geoffrey Clarke was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,049.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Geoffrey Clarke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,862.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit One & One Iii von Geoffrey Clarke wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.049,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geoffrey Clarke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.862,46).
