Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work At The Beach by Gaston Sébire for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,942.60). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art including Latin American and Russian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaston Sébire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le matin au Canet, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,884.35).
