Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Ete Blanc by Gaston Bertrand was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 2,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,564.07). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaston Bertrand - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rouge Bleu et Vert #317, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 24,000.00 (€ 17,945.27).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Ete Blanc von Gaston Bertrand im Juli 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 2.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.564,07) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Gaston Bertrand mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rouge Bleu et Vert #317 beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 24.000,00 (€ 17.945,27) versteigert wurde.
