This artwork by Gaston Bertrand achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2018. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Composition Verticale ? 186 (Vertical Composition ? 186) sold for EUR 10,625.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gaston Bertrand; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rouge Bleu et Vert #317 sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 24,000.00 (€ 17,945.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gaston Bertrand erzielte im April 2018 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Composition Verticale ? 186 (Vertical Composition ? 186) für EUR 10.625,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gaston Bertrand; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Rouge Bleu et Vert #317 im März 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 17.945,27).
