Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Forever, Ever from the series Wish by Gary Simmons. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 14,017.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gary Simmons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bows and Bones in December this year with an auction result of GBP 114,300.00 (€ 131,669.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forever, Ever from the series Wish von Gary Simmons zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 14.017,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gary Simmons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bows and Bones im Dezember diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 114.300,00 (€ 131.669,22).
