Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Black Chalkboard (Double Grin) by Gary Simmons was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 50,400.00 (€ 42,182.79). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gary Simmons - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bows and Bones, which sold at auction in December this year for GBP 114,300.00 (€ 131,669.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Black Chalkboard (Double Grin) von Gary Simmons wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 45.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 50.400,00 (€ 42.182,79) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gary Simmons mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bows and Bones beobachtet, die im Dezember diesen Jahres für GBP 114.300,00 (€ 131.669,22) versteigert wurde.
