Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Hay Crew by Gary Ernest Smith for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,924.59). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Gary Ernest Smith have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2018 by the work Cabbage Field Harvest at USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,855.28).
