Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Desert Wash, Distant Mesas by Gary Ernest Smith was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. It achieved a price of USD 9,562.50 (€ 9,075.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gary Ernest Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cabbage Field Harvest , which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,855.28).
