The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,300.00 (€ 23,507.77), 15% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Shead achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).

Die Arbeit Union Jack von Garry Shead wurde im Dezember 2007 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian ArtIncluding Works by New Zealand and South African Artists bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.300,00 (€ 23.507,77) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Shead erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Queen Of Suburbia im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 432.000,00 (€ 258.325,93).
