Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection, which included the work Australian The Threat by Garry Shead. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 90,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 96,000.00 (€ 59,028.62). Admittedly, works by Garry Shead have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian The Threat von Garry Shead zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 90.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 96.000,00 (€ 59.028,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Garry Shead auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Queen Of Suburbia im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 432.000,00 (€ 258.325,93).
