Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Thirroul by Garry Shead. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 3,525.00 (€ 1,987.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Shead achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thirroul von Garry Shead zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 3.525,00 (€ 1.987,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Shead erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Queen Of Suburbia im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 432.000,00 (€ 258.325,93).
