Auction result well in line with expectations
The work D. H. Lawrence by Garry Shead was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Sydney in August 2004. It changed hands for a price of AUD 14,340.00 (€ 8,322.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Shead achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit D. H. Lawrence von Garry Shead wurde im August 2004 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 14.340,00 (€ 8.322,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Shead erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Queen Of Suburbia im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 432.000,00 (€ 258.325,93).
