Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bird On A High Branch by Gao Qipei was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Qipei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fish in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 5,165,000.00 (€ 591,132.84).

Die Arbeit Bird On A High Branch von Gao Qipei kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Qipei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fish im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.165.000,00 (€ 591.132,84).
