The work Crabs by Gao Qipei was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,462.63), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Qipei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fish in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 5,165,000.00 (€ 591,132.84).

Die Arbeit Crabs von Gao Qipei wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.462,63) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Qipei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fish im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.165.000,00 (€ 591.132,84).
