Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scholar Under A Willow by Gao Qipei was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,286.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Qipei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fish in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 5,165,000.00 (€ 591,132.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Scholar Under A Willow von Gao Qipei kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.286,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Qipei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fish im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.165.000,00 (€ 591.132,84).
