Artwork auctioned at 16 times the upper estimate price
When the work Dear Boone Letter by G. Harvey was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 16 times as high at USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,929.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by G. Harvey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boomtown Drifters in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 1,230,000.00 (€ 1,056,065.94).
Kunstwerk zum 16-fachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Dear Boone Letter von G. Harvey im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.929,51) mehr als 16-mal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von G. Harvey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boomtown Drifters im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.230.000,00 (€ 1.056.065,94).
