Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Cowboy's Dream by G. Harvey was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 150,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 500,000.00 (€ 429,295.10). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by G. Harvey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boomtown Drifters, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 1,230,000.00 (€ 1,056,065.94).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Cowboy's Dream von G. Harvey im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 150.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 500.000,00 (€ 429.295,10) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von G. Harvey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boomtown Drifters beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 1.230.000,00 (€ 1.056.065,94) versteigert wurde.
