In the Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection auction, the work The Sacred Mountain (Taos) sold for USD 24,062.50 (€ 20,391.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fremont F. Ellis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Indian Summer - Santa Fe, New Mexico, which sold at auction in November 2004 for USD 95,600.00 (€ 72,101.97).
