Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Artist by Fremont F. Ellis was sold in the Living With Art auction at Christies in New York in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,729.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fremont F. Ellis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indian Summer - Santa Fe, New Mexico in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 95,600.00 (€ 72,101.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Artist von Fremont F. Ellis wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion Living With Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.729,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fremont F. Ellis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indian Summer - Santa Fe, New Mexico im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.600,00 (€ 72.101,97).
