In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Randall Davey's House - Winter by Fremont F. Ellis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 19,125.00 (€ 18,150.33), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fremont F. Ellis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Indian Summer - Santa Fe, New Mexico, which sold at auction in November 2004 for USD 95,600.00 (€ 72,101.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Randall Davey's House - Winter von Fremont F. Ellis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 19.125,00 (€ 18.150,33) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fremont F. Ellis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Indian Summer - Santa Fe, New Mexico beobachtet, die im November 2004 für USD 95.600,00 (€ 72.101,97) versteigert wurde.
