In May 2001 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS, which included the work Apache Canyon by Fremont F. Ellis. The price achieved of USD 37,600.00 (€ 44,470.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Fremont F.
