This artwork by Frank William Scarbrough achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work 'Wapping Reach, Port of London' sold for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,409.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank William Scarbrough - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated), which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank William Scarbrough erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit 'Wapping Reach, Port of London' für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 4.409,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank William Scarbrough mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.640,29) versteigert wurde.
