In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) by Frank William Scarbrough. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29), 43% above the upper estimate. With this result, The Pool of London; And London Bridge (Both Illustrated) is even the most expensive work of art by Frank William Scarbrough that we have observed at auctions so far.
